Phillip Island Koalas & Penguins

8-9 hrs

Discover the magic of Phillip Island with this fantastic private tour to see just the things you want to see. We drive south-east from Melbourne to reach Phillip Island, the home of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and our famous Little Penguins. Once there, depending on the time of year and your particular interests, we will visit Woolamai beach to see surfers riding the waves, and then the Koala Conservation Centre to see up close, in their natural habitat, one of the most famous and unique creatures of Australia. From here we go to the western corner of the island to enjoy magnificent views of Bass Strait and the Nobbies, which is home for the largest colony of fur seals in Australia.

During daylight saving time we will go to the town of Cowes to enjoy a great two course dinner before the final and most important part of the tour takes place, the penguin parade. The Little Penguins come ashore at dusk to go home to their burrows and feed their chicks. The noisy chicks will be waiting and calling for their parents to bring food. Once they have the feathers to survive the cold temperatures of these waters, the chicks will leave their nests and not return for at least one year. During the daylight saving period when the penguin parade occurs later in the evening, we return to Melbourne after the parade. For the rest of the year we go for dinner after the penguin parade and before returning to Melbourne.
